Indigenous Varieties ... The non-existent phylloxera has allowed many indigenous varieties to continue growing in the Canary Islands, resulting in some very exclusive wines.
Gual: adult leaf of medium-big size, pentagonal form. Medium sized bunch, short length. Small yellow berry with ovoide form.
Listan blanco: adult leaf with spherical form and medium size. Medium sized conical bunch, but sometimes it could have cylindrical form. The berry is spherical and yellow.
Listan negro: adult leaf with spherical form and medium size. Medium sized bunch with regular and conical form. Medium sized black spherical berry, colourless juice, medium skin and fleshy pulp.
Malvasia blanca: adult leaf with spherical form and small-medium size. Cylindrical-wing bunch, medium sized, with medium compactness. Round berry small sized, with colourless juice and fleshy pulp. Rare taste with high acidity in the maturing.
Marmajuelo: adult leaf of small-medium size. Medium sized compact bunch. Eliptical berry, short and yellow-green. With high acidity in the maturing.
Negramoll negra: medium sized adult leaf. Its bunch is medium sized, conical and fleshy. Medium sized black berry and its pulp is fleshy.
Tintilla: Big sized adult leaf with pentagonal form. Compact bunch with cylindric form. Small spherical berry and blue-black skin.
Verdello: Adult leaf of small-medium size. Small and compact bunch. Medium sized berry of short length with eliptical form and green-yellow skin.
