Tenerife, the biggest one of the Canary Islands, is in the Atlantic Ocean, nearly to the African shore. Because its situation, it has an excellent weather: Tenerife has always got a spring climate, with a medium temperature of 20ºC in winter and 25ºC in summer. The capital city is Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Soils of volcanic origin and a very mild climate, characterized by the trade winds make this denomination of origin YCODEN DAUTE ISORA, in the Northwest part of the Tenerife Island, a propitious place for growing vines.
The Island presents many ecosystems, landscapes and microclimates. Black sand beaches in the North and golden ones in the South, volcanic landscapes, paths full of charm, abrupt ravines and so many protected natural places. One of the most impressing natural phenomenon is Mount Teide with its 3.718 m. high, is the highest mountain of Spain, centre of an enormous National Natural Park and an excellent place to the observation of stars.
The island invites to the adventure and to practise all kind of sports: treking, sailing, surf, equitation, paragliding, free flying, golf... Tenerife offers a culture programation along the whole year: theatre, plastic arts, photography...
The gastronomy is very rich. Tenerife has kept its more traditional dishes, without giving up new flavours, that's why it is possible to find traditional restaurants near modern ones. Delicious fish and seafood, tasty cheese, excellent wines, honey or gofio (corn or wheat flour).
